New Range Rover Sport Local Pricing Announced
Land Rover South Africa has announced the pricing for their new Range Rover Sport as they get ready for its local launch.
Several months ago, Land Rover officially released their brand-new Range Rover Sport and naturally, there was no questioning as to whether it would be arriving in South Africa or not. After all, it’s a favourite amongst our sports stars, businesspeople and those Instagram Forex Traders.
With a steady flow of clientele probably already lining up for the model's October launch, Land Rover has decided to entice buyers even further by announcing the official pricing for the Range Rover Sport when it hits local dealers. Before we get into that though, let's just have a little re-cap of what we can expect from the Range Rover Sport.
First up, the model line-up comprises 10 variants to choose from, with four engine options which include the brand’s six-cylinder “Ingenium” engine in both turbo-petrol and turbodiesel, an extended range electric hybrid and an all-new fire-breathing twin-turbocharged V8.
Ultimately, the V8 is at the top of the range, a status it’s earned thanks to the 390kW it produces which gives the rather heavy Sport a 0-100km time of only 4.5 seconds when Dynamic Launch is put to use. The V8 model is badged P530 and less than 60 units have been allocated to South Africa.
The electric hybrid model, badged as the P510e offers a battery range of over 100km before the 3.0-litre six-cylinder Ingenium petrol engine needs to take over. When it comes to power figures, the P510e produces a total of 375kW thanks to the extra kick produced by the 105kW electric motor while only emitting 18g/km of Carbon dioxide.
The range also includes the P400 badged mild-hybrid which is powered by a straight six Ingenium turbo petrol engine with 294kW and 550Nm of torque, and you can’t leave out the six-cylinder D350 turbodiesel engine with 258kW and 700Nm.
Moving onto trim levels, the Autobiography is once again the highest spec available (excluding the limited edition P530 V8) and can be ordered with either the D350 or P510e electric hybrid engine options. If you go for the Autobiography, you get to enjoy 22” Diamond Turned wheels with a satin dark grey finish, a black contrast roof with sliding panoramic sunroof, an SV Bespoke full extended leather upgrade and premium cabin lighting with illuminated treadplates featuring Autobiography script.
In Autobiography trim, the Range Rover Sport is jaw-dropping, but until you see it on the streets, the prices can keep your jaw dropped in the meantime:
- D350 Dynamic S R2,001,200.
- D350 Dynamic SE R2,062,100.
- D350 Dynamic HSE R2,189,200.
- D350 Autobiography R2,252,300.
- D350 First Edition R2,281,700.
- P400 Dynamic S R2,001,200.
- P400 Dynamic SE R2,062,100.
- P510e Autobiography R2,777,000.
- P510e First Edition R2,806,500.
- P530 First Edition R3,011,600.
Those prices are certainly eye-watering, but that is what you can expect these days from premium SUV brands, not to mention a Range Rover has always been the ultimate status, meaning Land Rover South Africa won’t struggle to find buyers.
